Incremenatlism…the HHS says that the PSA rates a “D” and hence insurance is not required to pay for it…then Medicare won’t pay for it….the extrapolation is that the Government by virtue of decrees (USPSTF) guides the healthcare dollar which in turn de facto tells doctors what to do. Far fetched……?
The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) is “an independent panel of experts in primary care and prevention that systematically reviews the evidence of effectiveness and develops recommendations for clinical preventive services.”[1] The task force, a panel of primary care physicians and epidemiologists, is funded, staffed, and appointed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.[
Funded….staffed….appointed… by the HHS….and you wonder how it was that the AMA voted for ObamaCare, how they got “doctors” to pose in front of the White House in white jackets implying that the rank and file doctors support this legislation. And now you know why less than 15% of american M.D.s are members of the AMA.
Read the tea leaves my friends…..So who are the doctors on the USPSTF? Primary care and epidemiologists…that’s who I want to advise me about my prostate cancer. Who needs a urologist!
I’m going to take a look at mamograms and colonoscopies….let’s see how they graded? Oh yea…last year the mamogram rated a “C” but the women made more of a fuss about it than men will make about the PSA….
