If you have had prostate cancer treated by radiation think twice (or three times) before having any operative procedure on your prostate.

If it’s been radiated it ain’t gonna heal right if you go a cuttin on it!

  1. My radiation oncologist told me that once I had the Brachytherapy that surgery was then out of the question. I was recently diagnosed and my urologistdoes n’t recommend surgery as it is contained and relatively small at the moment. Active surveillance is still an option but I would prefer to get it handled now. The infection I got following the biopsy was brutal and I don’t want to risk another one.

  2. Have you considered focal cryo therapy as an alternative treatment. This is a good treatment when the cancer is small and concentrated in the prostate. 4 years after IMRT radiation I had the cryo in Feb. In a few weeks I will get the results. If the psa has dropped from 22.9 to .5, it will be considered to be a success.
