My radiation oncologist told me that once I had the Brachytherapy that surgery was then out of the question. I was recently diagnosed and my urologistdoes n’t recommend surgery as it is contained and relatively small at the moment. Active surveillance is still an option but I would prefer to get it handled now. The infection I got following the biopsy was brutal and I don’t want to risk another one.
Have you considered focal cryo therapy as an alternative treatment. This is a good treatment when the cancer is small and concentrated in the prostate. 4 years after IMRT radiation I had the cryo in Feb. In a few weeks I will get the results. If the psa has dropped from 22.9 to .5, it will be considered to be a success.
